Armstrong Western LLC conducts equipment auctions for farmers, ranchers and contractors across eastern Oregon. We’re based in Caldwell, Idaho, and we’ve conducted in-place online auctions in Oregon, where the equipment stays at the seller’s location. Every auction has no buyer’s premium, and your equipment is marketed to online bidders from across the US, Canada and Mexico.

Selling in Baker City, Baker County or the Powder River valley? Our regional site, Baker Oregon Auction, has the town-level detail: how retirement auctions work there and past regional sales.

Eastern Oregon equipment auction: how consigning works

For eastern Oregon sellers, consigning with us goes one of two ways.

1. In-place online auction: the equipment stays at your location

When there are too many pieces to haul, or freight would cost too much, we can sell the equipment in place. Bidders register and bid online, and the sale closes on a set date and time. There’s no live, in-person bidding; bidders from across the US, Canada and Mexico bid online. We’ll help you decide whether an in-place online auction is the right call.

2. Haul it to a Caldwell consignment auction

For a few pieces, add them to one of our four yearly open consignment auctions at the 12.5-acre Caldwell yard: winter, spring, pre-harvest and fall. A bi-level loading dock lets you drive equipment straight off the trailer. The consignment windows are on our southwest Idaho equipment auctions page, and our local services list includes truckers.

Only a couple of items? In some cases we can come out for pictures and videos, or we’ll walk you through the photos and details we need to list them.

Oregon title paperwork

If you live in Oregon, the title doesn’t have to be in your name to sell a titled vehicle with us in Idaho. A title signed by a previous owner is required, though. Questions go to David Scheuffele at (208) 392-7588. Oregon’s own title rules are on the Oregon DMV title and registration page.

A recent eastern Oregon in-place online auction

In May 2026 we conducted the Peter Ahart Retirement Auction in Adel, Oregon. It sold 135 lots online. For Baker City sales, see past regional sales on Baker Oregon Auction, and for every sale, see our auction results.
